It's easy to tell which are Turf2Max lawns!

These photos are associated with the Role of Turf2Max on Turf Density test. These were taken during August 2003, a very hot summer that produced 18 days over 100 degrees!

What is Turf2Max

Turf2Max is a liquid organic polymer mixture that is easily applied with any hose end or tank sprayer.

Turf2Max with its special properties loosens and aerates compacted soils, even in high traffic areas or where plant growth is difficult to maintain.

Turf2Max is not a wetting agent (surfactant) that simply alters the surface property of water (surface tension) in order to penetrate into the soil deeper. Wetting agents will not loosen or aerate soils or promote the formation of water stable aggregates.

Why use Turf2Max

The high concentrations of salt in the soil in many areas has increased soil compaction and caused serious problems to plant growth.

Turf2Max will disperse the mineral salts deeper into the soil and out of the growing area, form water stable aggregrates, and allow the plant to absorb more nutrients.

Increased soil pore space allows more nitrogen and oxygen to penetrate the soil and plant root zones.

Soil aerobic microorganism activity increases that allow more raw nutrients to be converted to a usable plant food source.

Turf2Max May Reduce Soil Erosion

Rainwater will infiltrate through the soil layers at a much higher rate after Turf2Max application due to reduced soil compaction.

Turf2Max clumps the fine soil particles into larger water stable aggregates thereby making the soil particles less likely to be transported in the water flow.

Turf2Max is Environmentally Friendly

Turf2Max restores productivity of gumbo, clay, and caliche soils by using a natural aeration process.

Turf2Max is an organic polymer mixture.

Turf2Max increases beneficial aerobic soil microorganism activity.

Earthworm size and population increases after the application of Turf2Max.

Compare the Difference!

These two 50 gram samples are of topsoil removed from the same site.

The left (control) sample was treated with water only. The right sample was treated with 2.0% Turf2Max solution.

Both samples were air dried at 72 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 days.

untreated soiltreated soil

The soil particle sizes are substantially larger on the right sample indicating increased pore space (porosity).

The treated sample has retained 22% moisture whereas the control sample retained 7% moisture.

Refer to the Research Information page for a series of investigations regarding Turf2Max.

The above photo was taken to compare the difference between a lawn treated with Turf2Max and an untreated lawn. Notice the burning of the turf across the street, due to lack of moisture retention. Water bill comparisons reflected that 36% more water was applied on the untreated yard. Each yard is about 12,000 sq. ft, and both houses have three occupants. A margin of error of 5% for personal water consumption was considered.
